Safety Positive Foundation

Welcome to the Safety Positive Foundation

A proactive resource for the blind and visually-impaired.

About the Safety Positive Foundation

The Safety Positive Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Amy SP Wilson.

After almost a decade in the world of personal safety and security as a blind woman, Amy saw a need for resources that equip and empower the BVI community to be proactive about their personal safety.

In March of 2023, Safety Positive Foundation was born.

Introducing Safety Positive Tea Rooms

A personal safety experience customized to your needs.

These private Zoom meetings offer a virtual space to discuss personal safety topics with guests of your choice.

Plus, you’ll be matched with a Safety Positive team member to help you facilitate the discussion.

Consider hosting a SPF Tea Room if…

  • You have specific personal safety topics you’d like to learn more about with your personal circle of friends or family.

  • You and your colleagues work with blind or visually impaired individuals and have specific personal safety questions to discuss.

Do you think a Safety Positive Tea Room would fit your needs?

Attending this year's NFB Convention in Houston, TX? Add some questing adventure into the mix!

The Safety Positive Foundation is holding its 1st fundraiser at this year’s National Federation of the Blind National Convention, and we added some fun to go along with it.

🌟 Introducing the SPF Convention Quest and Fundraiser! 🌟

All questers who complete their adventure will be entered into a drawing to win one of 3 prize chests.

Winners will be announced July 6, and they do not have to be present to win.

How does it work?

  1. Sign up for the SPF Convention Quest and pay the $25 entry fee no later than midnight, July 3.

  2. Then, keep an eye on your inbox for your questing form.

  3. As you attend various meetings and explore the convention, use our clues to find code words you can add to your questing form.

  4. Complete and submit your form (electronically) by midnight, July 5.

Are you ready to add some adventure to your convention experience?

Give $8 on 8/8 to Support the Safety Positive Foundation

This Tuesday, on 8/8, we’re challenging Safety Positive supporters to give $8 toward our 8 for Safety Fundraising Campaign.

The number 8 resembles the sign for infinity. To us, it represents the potential this foundation and its supporters have to create lasting positive change in our communities.

(Plus, “give $8 on 8/8” sounds kind of catchy, doesn’t it?)

Give your $8 today!

Please share this link with anyone who wants to support the SPF mission of equipping the BVI community to be more positive and proactive with their personal safety and how they navigate the world.
